Joan Kirby

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there.

I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;

I am the diamond glints on snow;

I am the sunlight on ripened grain;

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awake in the morning's bush,

I am the swift upflinging rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight;

I am the soft star-shine at night

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there. I did not die.

Joan2

When I come to the end of the day and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love we once shared - miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take and each of us must go alone.

It's all part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to friends you know and bury your sorrow in doing good deeds.

Miss me, but let me go.
